Day 4 Paris Fashion Week | Dior & Marant

DIOR

Dior put on a show before the actual show. With the runway covered in vines, branches and the colors of the flora it created an enchanted garden.
The collection mostly focused on day wear but designer Raf Simons is working on infusing the fashion house of Dior's retro floral looks to a more modern take. Starting the show off with structured tops over silk floral bottoms showed us exactly what he meant with showing off "The new Dior". He still kept the collection very ladylike with the dresses, patterns and colors.
Simons took a different take on silhouettes with a more detailed cut. He took a ball gown and turned it into a multi strip skirt. Some of the dresses had strips of material wrapped around with graphics typed onto it to show off a big trend right now.

And then the finale..

All the models changed into a floral silhouettes or tailored black ensembles. Carried out in metallic florals these silhouettes looked very familiar. Is Dior going back or is going towards the future?
Either way, I loved what Simons has done. It was amazing.

ISABEL MARANT

With shrinking hemlines Isabel Marant showed off her tomboy and lingerie like designs. The highlight for me was that she played with the hard/soft look and the ruffly floral pieces.
